The fireplaces and heaters turn on and the smell of hot chocolate lingers through the air. The snowmen are lining the streets in front of houses and the distinct breeze of snow fills the outdoors.
This is true as the winter season drags by. Although this cold environment causes many people to want to stay inside, there are so many activities that can be utilized even with this frigid climate.
Snowboarding and skiing are some winter activities that a person can participate in at Sundown Mountain Resort in Dubuque and prices range from $32 to $44.
Snowtubing is another common interest, also known as sledding. This outdoor recreational lodge is located in Boone, Iowa and costs between $14 to $18 depending on the amount of hours.
Another typical interest is ice skating. There is an ice rink in Coral Ridge or the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena. The median price is between $7 and $8 including the skate rental.
It’s easy to want to stay inside because it’s a little colder than usual outside. It’s easy to want to watch Netflix or heat up that hot chocolate because somebody just had to walk those 5 steps from their car to the door. But it’s time to go outside and utilize the activities that winter brings.
