State is one of the best experiences. It’s a once in a lifetime chance. Being able to play at state is something no one can ever take away from you. Many Marion graduates say that they wish they would’ve gotten the chance to go to state. State basketball is an awesome environment and the energy really gets you going.
Seeing all the fans that come to support in the stands and tell you how proud they are of you is the best feeling ever. People say confidence is key, and when the fans tell you how good you’re doing, you feel superior. When things get intense, they never fail to stand up and start cheering to get us pumped up. Our fans will always have our backs in anything we do, and I’m very appreciative of that. I wouldn’t want to play for any other coaches, team, or community. I’m proud and grateful to be a Marion Indian.
Seeing all the little girls there so excited and anxious is quite adorable. There is no better feeling than being a role model for someone who looks up to you so much. You can tell that they have big goals for their future in sports because they were so excited for our future.
Marion Girls Basketball is very, very thankful for the fans that have proudly supported and cheered us on. Anyone who says that we didn’t deserve going to state is dead wrong. State basketball is something us girls have dreamed about and worked so hard for since we were little. If they think we don’t deserve it then they don’t need to watch us kill it.
