Summer begins

This is it. There is officially one half day left of the school year, and all of the students are free to do what they want. That is, until it suddenly becomes August again, and everyone is back in the desks that they tried hard to forget over the two month break. This means students are doing their best to enjoy the break.

Cydney Berry, ‘18, is one of the students who can’t wait for the summer to begin. “I’m super pumped for summer,” she said, “it has been a long time coming. It feels like I’ve been waiting forever.”

Berry has a lot of plans lined up for the summer, and she couldn’t be more excited for them to play out. “I’m going to Vegas for a little bit, and just travelling the state of Iowa on a waterfall road trip,” she said.

Not only this, but she has even more outdoor ideas. “We’re going to go fishing, kayaking, and just have a lot of fun at my cabin,” she said, “and I’m going to take a lot of trips to Cedar Falls.”

Students are on the edge of their seats for that final bell to ring, ready to leave behind the school and trade it for hot summer days and great times with friends.
