Bowling for a change

Bowling is a sport that many people see more as a hobby or a laid back activity. Many people believe that students go out for bowling just for fun or so they are not ineligible for their next sport, junior Colin Gorgen bowls for other reasons.

Colin Gorgen is a dual sport athlete juggling golf and bowling along with being a very talented student. He has been part of the rebuilding process for the bowling team and this is his first year on the Varsity team. The team is 0-2 on the year and is led by senior Dylan Nash. Boys bowling has struggled a little bit in the past and Gorgen hopes to be a part of the future change. He has been bowling since freshman year and has enjoyed it ever since.

“It is fun learning how to bowl the right way,” said Gorgen.

Gorgen has a passion for the sport and he has shown that posting a season high 191 game on the year. He really enjoys the sport because it involves a team and individual type style the sport has to offer.

“I bowl with my heart, I give it my all when I’m in the lane”.

Gorgen is very focused on this year and has high goals set for himself and the team. He tries not to worry about the score or the obstacles in his way and just worries on one thing.

“I’m just focused on knocking those pins down”.
