It’s five minutes until showtime. The crowd is getting settled in, the actors are ready behind the curtain, and the lights are dimmed. When people think of a musical they think of actors on stage for everyone to see but for Chloe Mallon, senior, it’s a little different.
Mallon has been the assistant director for the last four years and is ready to show off the last one of her high school career. They have all been practicing since the beginning of March and are ready for their first performance. “[Assistant directors] read lines when people forget, play the music, and just help with extra things around set,” Mallon said.
Emily Cejka, sophomore, is a crew member for the high school play and has been since her freshman year. She runs the curtains during each scene of the play. “[The best part] is getting to watch the performances,” Cejka said. She also enjoys being involved.
Everyone involved in the musical is very excited to show off what they have been working on. They will be performing Footloose on Friday, April seventh and Saturday, April eighth at seven p.m. in the high school auditorium.
